Cowtown Logistics Freight Management is growing and redefining the world of Freight Brokering. We are
looking for a new team member who is self motivated and ready to take their brokering career to the next level! This exciting Freight Broker position allows the employee to manage all logistics associated with moving freight. We’ll get you the freight, you need to know to quote them and win the freight. You will coordinate all the daily operations in providing transportation solutions for customers’ ground shipments.

Job Responsibilities:

Negotiate pricing with both the Shippers and the Carriers
Ability to effectively read posting boards and understand the effects of variables on rates in the spot market
Oversee the management of daily shipments to make sure they pick up and deliver 24/7/365
Oversee preparation of all necessary documentation and reports involved in each transportation with cargo with both the shipper and the consignee; Including BOL’s, Rate Confirmations, Invoices, etc.
Monitor the movement of freight by keeping in constant contact with drivers and shippers to ensure that your shipment is both en route and on time
Confirm with the truckers and consignees that your load has been delivered

Skills:

At least two years experience as a freight broker
Effective interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and listening skills
Excellence in organization, planning, problem solving, and effective management of freight
Demonstrated prioritization, organization and time management skills necessary to balance shipper and carrier relationships effectively and accurately
Highly self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
Swift adaptability to changes in the process and priorities
Self-starter who is able to work independently and with minimal supervision
Experience juggling multiple projects and recurring duties simultaneously, ensuring efficient completion within deadlines and sharp attention to detail
Ability to maintain poise, professionalism, and positivity at all times
Desire for continuous improvement and eagerness for learning new skills
Basic computer skills: Google Suite / Microsoft Office
